Job description
The client is looking for a freelancer to consult them during the design phase of a new online archive.
The consultancy will focus on evaluating suitable hosting and content delivery strategies for around 100 million image documents (30–40 TB of data) with global public access requirements. In particular, the consultancy will examine the suitability of European hosting providers compared to international cloud providers, the possible need for a content delivery network (CDN), and alternative CDN architectures and providers.
The aim of the consultancy is to draw up an independent recommendation, taking into account technical, operational, performance-related, regulatory and economic aspects, to serve as the basis for subsequent tenders and architectural decisions.
Another important aspect is taking a forward-looking view of what the cost drivers of the setup might be in the future.
