We are currently looking for a Observability Engineer (m/w/d) for our client in the energy sector.

Location: 75% remote, 25% Berlin

Description:
The Service team within the program organization is responsible for developing core services of a hybrid
cloud platform, such as a private cloud Kubernetes Service, a Resource Management Service, a service Lifecycle
Management Service, and an Identity and Access Management Service. In addition, the team is developing an
observability platform to monitor these (and in future other) services. The observability platform is to be a
multi-tenant platform and designed with scalability in mind.
We are looking for an experienced observability Engineer to join our team. In this role you will contribute to the
continuous development and operation of the observability platform.
Targets:
- Contribute to the development of the observability stack
- Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Deploy and maintain the observability stack on-premise
- Collaborate with DevOps teams using the platform to implement necessary functionality
- Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation for the usage of the platform
- Implement and maintain security best practices such as tenant-dependent RBAC for logs, metrics, and
traces
Requirements:
- Ability to design for scalability and optimize performance
- Excellent documentation and communication skills and proactive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, adapting to agile and DevOps methodologies for
software development
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and sustainable
solutions
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and addressing technical challenges
Must-Have-Skills:
- Experience with observability tools (e.g. Prometheus/Thanos, Grafana, Loki, etc.)
- Good understanding of networking concepts, including protocols, load balancing, and security
- Proficiency in both speech and writing in English (at least C1)
Nice-to-have-Skills:
- Ability to set up and manage CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with IaC/GitOps
- Experience with hyperscalers
- Experience with Kubernetes
