Lead Developer (m/w/d)

The client is looking for an experienced lead developer for the development of a platform that will visualise changing labour markets in low-and-middle-income countries.

You will work with the programme leadership team to help set up the platform by conceptualising an architecture of robust and scalable data processing tools, processes, and infrastructure designed to let users explore, visualise, and analyse data on skills and occupations in specific labour markets.

The new platform has three pillars:
1. Development and dissemination of open-source tools, platforms, and technological solutions that can help stakeholders make labour markets more efficient and equitable
2. Conduct research and generate evidence on changing labour markets and skills in LMICs
3. Provide a global platform for knowledge exchange and learning

Your tasks:
• Set up systems, tools, organizational structures, and roadmaps to plan engineering activities in an agile way
• Summarize the potential architecture and front-end vision in a short, internal concept paper

The concept paper should summarise the platform architecture, data infrastructure, front-end user interfaces and visualisations as well as the roadmap and description of activities to support the future platform.

You should be experienced with big data processing and visualization, architectures and methodology to create web-based static and interactive visualizations.
